Thus my number one suggestion would be to learn how to write captivating content for your niche.

Write Captivating Content.

Before you start to monetize your website you need to get people to visit your website and read your content. Once you have chosen your niche ( the area of expertise which you will write about) you need to write content that will answer people’s questions. If your niche is affiliate marketing you will want to explain to people what affiliate marketing is and then find out what people want to learn.

The best way to find those questions is to join online forums about affiliate marketing. You can find these groups on many social media platforms. The ones I like the best are Quora and LinkedIn because people are always asking questions about a specific topic. you can also find a lot of groups on Facebook. You can check out my group in “Quora” as an example.

Content is King.

We have all heard the saying but so few of us actually put it into practice. According to a recent MIT Sloan Management analysis analysis, 97% of websites fail to provide a positive customer experience. The issues related to text legibility and the usage of space for the topic’s natural information flows.

Because the authors were “shoddy” at the fundamentals, they let their audience down. While these issues can usually be remedied, they shouldn’t have arisen in the first place.

It is not just about what is written, but also about how it is presented. The content will not have the desired effect if the message is conveyed in an ineffective manner. Let’s examine the “nitty-gritty” of creating quality content and all the extras that will make it stand out.

Basic Craftsmanship.

“Good copywriting plays a massive role in the success of your business and it is one feature that you can’t go in half-arsed.

With so much content being released on the internet, it can be difficult to stand out. When you are up against the trials and tribulations of movie stars going through divorce problems or a rapper trying out their favorite “grass” on a TV cooking show you have to make your content exceptional to compete.” Source; Kool Affiliates. ” Tips to writing great website content

  • Empathize with your audience. The key to writing any marketing content is knowing your audience first and foremost. This means understanding their needs, challenges, goals, and preferences. By empathizing with your audience, you can create content that resonates with them and shows that you care about solving their problems. For example, if you are writing for busy parents who want to save time and money, you can empathize with their struggles and offer them practical tips and solutions.
  • Connect with your audience. Once you have empathized with your audience, you need to connect with them on an emotional level. This means using a tone and style that matches their personality and expectations. You also need to use stories, anecdotes, examples, and data to support your points and make your content more engaging. For example, if you are writing for young professionals who want to advance their careers, you can connect with them by sharing your own experiences and successes, and relevant statistics and facts.
  • Usefulness. Your content should provide value to your audience by answering their questions, addressing their pain points, or teaching them something new. Your content should also be clear, concise, and easy to follow. You can use headings, bullet points, lists, images, and other formatting elements to organize your content and make it more readable. For example, if you are writing for aspiring entrepreneurs who want to start their own businesses, you can provide useful information on how to find a niche, create a business plan, register a company, etc.
  • Beliefs. Your content should reflect your brand’s values, mission, vision, and personality. You should also express your opinions and perspectives on topics that matter to your audience and industry. This will help you establish your credibility, authority, and trustworthiness as a content creator. For example, if you are writing for eco-conscious consumers who want to live more sustainably, you can share your beliefs on environmental issues and how your brand is making a positive impact.
  • Engage your audience with an offer. Your content should not only inform and educate your audience but also persuade them to take action. You should include a clear and compelling call-to-action (CTA) at the end of your content that tells your audience what you want them to do next. You should also offer them an incentive or a benefit for taking that action. For example, if you are writing for fitness enthusiasts who want to improve their health and wellness, you can engage them with an offer to sign up for a free trial of your online fitness program or download a free ebook on nutrition tips.
  • Deliver value consistently. Your content should not be a one-time thing but rather a part of a long-term strategy to build relationships with your audience and grow your brand awareness. You should create and publish content regularly and consistently on various platforms and channels that suit your audience’s preferences. You should also measure and analyze the performance of your content and optimize it accordingly. For example, if you are writing for travel lovers who want to explore new destinations, you can deliver value consistently by posting weekly blog posts, monthly newsletters, quarterly ebooks, etc.

Another way of putting is AIDA, which stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action.

Ways You Can Monetize Your Website:

Affiliate Marketing:

You can recommend and promote products or services that are relevant to your niche and earn a commission for every sale you generate through your affiliate links. Read more about affiliate marketing and how you do it here on my post “The ABC’s of Affiliate Marketing

Advertising:

You can display ads from Google AdSense or other networks on your website and earn money every time someone clicks on them.

  • Google AdSense is a program that allows website owners and publishers to earn money by displaying ads on their sites. The ads are provided by Google and its partners, and they are relevant to the content and audience of the site. The website owner or publisher gets paid when a visitor views or clicks on an ad. Read more here about Google Adsense.

There are many alternatives to Google AdSense that offer different features, benefits, and drawbacks. Some of the most popular ones are:

  • Ad Exchange (AdX): This is a platform that connects publishers with advertisers who bid for ad space in real-time. AdX offers more control, transparency, and revenue potential than AdSense, but it also has higher requirements and fees.
  • Media.net: This is a network that specializes in contextual and native ads, which are ads that match the look and feel of the site. Media.net offers high-quality ads, personalized support, and competitive rates, but it also has strict approval criteria and minimum traffic requirements.
  • PropellerAds: This is a network that focuses on pop-under ads, which are ads that open in a new browser window behind the current one. PropellerAds offers high CTRs, fast approval, and global coverage, but it also has low-quality ads, intrusive formats, and potential security issues.
  • Infolinks: This is a network that offers in-text ads, which are ads that appear as hyperlinks within the content of the site. Infolinks offers easy integration, smart targeting, and customization options, but it also has low CPCs, annoying ads, and poor user experience.
  • Ezoic: This is a very popular alternative to AdSense and Ezoic uses proprietary artificial intelligence that tailors the ad experience down to a visitor-by-visitor basis, ensuring that each visitor only gets targeted with the amount, location, and size of ads that they’re most receptive to.

And here are some others if that is not enough of a selection. Media.net, Adsterra, Adversal, Sovrn //Commerce (Formerly VigLink), Skimlinks, Monumetric, InfoLinks, Adnimation, Evadav, PopCash, PopAds, RevContent, SHE Media, AdRecover, MadAds Media, Bidvertiser, BuySellAds, and AdClickMedia.

These are just some of the alternatives to Google AdSense that you can consider for your website. Each one has its own advantages and disadvantages, so you should do your research and testing before choosing the best one for your needs.

Sponsored content:

You can collaborate with brands or influencers and create content that features their products or services in exchange for a fee or free products. Let me explain;

Sponsored content and working with influencers are two types of online marketing strategies that can help you monetize your website. Here is how they work and what are their benefits:

  • Sponsored content is a type of promotional media that’s paid for by an advertiser, but created and shared by another brand, influencer, or publisher. This type of content is most engaging when you sponsor a company or influencer who targets your core audience and already discusses topics that align with your brand. For example, if you have a website about travel, you can sponsor a blog post or a video from a popular travel blogger or vlogger who showcases your products or services in their content.
  • Working with influencers is a strategy that involves partnering with popular social media users or bloggers who have a large, engaged audience that trusts their opinions and recommendations. You can pay them to promote your brand in their posts, stories, reels, or live streams, or offer them free products or rewards in exchange for their endorsement. For example, if you have a website about fitness, you can work with an influencer who has a loyal following of fitness enthusiasts and ask them to feature your products or services in their workouts or routines.

Some of the benefits of sponsored content and working with influencers are:

  • They can help you reach a wider and more relevant audience that is interested in your niche and likely to buy your products or services.
  • They can help you build credibility and trust with your audience by leveraging the authority and reputation of the content creators or influencers.
  • They can help you generate social proof and word-of-mouth marketing by encouraging the audience to share, comment, like, or follow your brand.
  • They can help you increase your website traffic, conversions, sales, and revenue by driving more qualified leads to your site.

Another way of providing a revenue stream for yourself is by teaching or coaching, which is what I have been doing now for over 15 years. I do not advertise anymore and get my “students” by referral from my past successes.

Online courses or coaching:

You can teach and share your skills or knowledge with your audience and charge them for access to your courses or coaching sessions.

One of the ways you can monetize your website is by creating and selling online courses or coaching services that teach and share your skills or knowledge with your audience. This can be a lucrative and rewarding way to generate income from your website, and to establish your authority and reputation in your niche. Here are some steps you can follow to monetize your website with online courses or coaching:

  • Identify your target audience and their needs. You need to know who you are creating your courses or coaching for, what problems they have, what goals they want to achieve, and what results they are looking for.
  • Choose a topic and format for your courses or coaching. You need to decide what topic you want to teach, what level of difficulty and depth you want to cover, and what format you want to use. You can create video courses, audio courses, text-based courses, live webinars, or a combination of these. You can also offer one-on-one coaching, group coaching, or self-paced coaching.
  • Create your course or coaching content. You need to plan and produce your course or coaching content, such as the curriculum, the lessons, the exercises, the quizzes, the feedback, etc. You need to make sure that your content is clear, engaging, informative, and actionable.
  • Choose a platform and a pricing strategy for your courses or coaching. You need to decide where and how you want to host and sell your courses or coaching. You can use your own website or a third-party platform like Teachable, Udemy, Skillshare, etc. You also need to decide how much you want to charge for your courses or coaching. You can use a one-time fee, a subscription fee, a pay-per-result fee, or a combination of these.
  • Promote and market your courses or coaching. You need to attract and convert potential customers for your courses or coaching. You can use various strategies such as creating a landing page, building an email list, offering free samples or trials, creating testimonials or case studies, using social media, blogging, podcasting, SEO, etc

Hopefully, these tips will guide you and along with further research, you will be able to put a course or several coaching lessons together. It is a good idea to take a course through someone like “Fiverr to help you understand how they are put together professionally.

Final Words.

There is much more I could write about this as it is perhaps the most or at least one of the most important things about owning a website. Yes, it can be fun to supply information and help others in their quest for online success. However, we ultimately need to make money ourselves.

I have not touched on Keywords and have said nothing about SEO, both of which are critically important for your online success. But if I add that here the post will be far too long and in these days of “brief is better” I would have probably lost 100% of my readers.

Before you consider any type of monetization you must have at least, in my opinion, 30 posts on your website each averaging approximately 1,000 words. These posts should concentrate on providing information and answering questions with no explicit sales push.

If you wish to find out more please visit my website or leave me a message in the comments. The links I have provided should also lead to some information about both these topics and more that you need.

Once again, as I have stated before, to be successful in this arena you should join me on the Wealthy Affiliate platform. If you do decide to go it alone in your online business the odds are against you.

The U.S Census Bureau.

According to the US Census Bureau, Business Dynamics Statistics, 2014, roughly a third of new businesses exit within their first two years, and half exit within their first five years. New businesses that exit within three years have a survival rate of 38.4%.

Another source states that 70% of new businesses survive beyond two years, 50% of new businesses survive beyond five years, 30% of new businesses survive beyond ten years and 25% of new businesses survive beyond fifteen years.

According to another source, only 10% of online businesses succeed on average, with most failing within the first 120 days.

So to improve your chances of success find a reputable platform to work with and a successful mentor to help you.

I can provide both, and your chances of success are far greater than if you go alone. Ask me how I can help you.
