Earning on YouTube.
Making money on YouTube requires effort, consistency, and persistence to build an audience. Here are the main methods to generate revenue on YouTube in this short blog.
Ads revenue.
YouTube’s Partner Program allows content creators to monetize their videos through advertisements. You can apply to join the program once you meet certain requirements, such as having at least 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours in the past 12 months.
YouTube will display ads before, during, or alongside your video content, and you’ll earn a portion of the ad revenue based on factors like ad impressions and viewer engagement.
Channel Memberships.
Once you have 30,000 subscribers, you can offer channel memberships. This feature allows subscribers to pay a monthly fee (ranging from $4.99 to $49.99) to access exclusive perks like badges, emojis, exclusive content, or special live chat features during your streams.
Merchandise Shelf.
When you have at least 10,000 subscribers, you can use the merchandise shelf feature in YouTube’s Creator Studio to feature your official merchandise directly beneath your videos. You can link to your merchandise store, such as through an approved e-commerce platform, and earn a commission on sales.
Sponsored Content.
As your channel grows and gains visibility, you may receive offers from brands or companies to promote their products or services in your videos. You can negotiate sponsored content deals, where brands pay you to feature or review their offerings. Be sure to comply with YouTube’s policies and disclose any sponsorship or promotion to maintain transparency with your audience.
Crowdfunding.
Platforms like Patreon or Ko-fi allow YouTube creators to receive direct financial support from their viewers or fans. You can offer exclusive content, early access, or behind-the-scenes insights to those who pledge a recurring monthly amount or one-time donations.
Affiliate Marketing.
By joining affiliate programs, you can earn commissions by promoting products or services in your videos. You earn a percentage of the sales made through your affiliate links or receive a flat fee for referring customers. Find relevant products or services within your niche and disclose any affiliate links to maintain trust with your audience.
